Tartans Compete at Marty Goldberg Gator Invite

(MEADVILLE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invite on Thursday hosted by Allegheny College.

Graduate student Kendra Noneman (Eagle, Idaho / Eagle) won the hammer with a facility record of 59.41 meters while junior Ola Owodunni (Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) and freshman Katie Monahan (Cranberry Twp., Pa. / Seneca Valley) took second and fourth. Owodunni recorded a personal-best throw of 42.43 meters with Monahan marking at 39.87 meters.

Monahan also fifth in the shot put with a mark of 11.14 meters and placed seventh in the discus throwing the element 33.01 meters. Senior Agnes Zhou (Fremont, Calif. / Mission San Jose) javelin and placed third with a throw of 30.17 meters.

Junior Samantha Giordani (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Ambridge) won the 100-meter dash crossing in 12.24.

Sophomore JoJo Huczko (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) and senior Ashley Zhang (Great Falls, Va. / Langley) competed in the pole vault with Huczko clearing the bar at 3.45 meters and Zhang at 3.15 meters to place second and fifth, respectively.

Junior Liz Barre (Ithaca, N.Y. / Taft) competed at the University of Mount Olive Multi on Thursday and Friday in the heptathlon. Barre scored 4,545 points and placed fourth in a field of 12. Her score currently ranks ninth in Division III.

The Tartans will compete at the All-Atlantic Conference Championships on May 18-19.
