Tartans Compete at All-Atlantic Regional Indoor Championships

(NEW YORK, N.Y.) – Members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at the All-Atlantic Regional Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday hosted at The Armory in New York, New York.

Top Performances in the Field:

  • Sophomore Katie Monahan tossed the shot put 12.32 meters to place eighth with senior Ola Owodunni throwing the element a personal-best 11.42 meters. Owodunni also competed in the weight throw and marked at 15.38 meters to place 10th.
  • Sophomore Jocelyn Kiefel recorded a jump of 10.00 meters in the triple jump.

Top Performances on the Track:

  • Freshman Jacqueline Liu led a trio of Tartans in the 800-meter run when she crossed ninth in a time of 2:19.88. Seniors Kavya Tummalapalli and Mona Yuan finished 12th and 14th, respectively, with times of 2:20.18 and 2:20.85.
  • In the mile, freshman Margaret Ann Healy crossed in a season-best time of 5:11.62.

Up Next:

  • The Tartans will now wait to see the qualifying lists for the NCAA Indoor Championships at Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday and Saturday, March 10-11. The list will be announced late Sunday night.
