Tartans Drop Home Contest to DeSales

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team fell 3-0 to DeSales University in its final home match of the Carnegie Mellon Crossover Tournament on Saturday, September 24. The Tartans are now 10-6 on the season as the Bulldogs advance to 17-2.

Sophomore Emily Wright (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) led with 19 assists as the team totaled 30 kills. Freshman Ali Celentano (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) put down eight kills for the Tartans as sophomore Senna Parsa (Bellevue, Wash./Newport) finished with seven.

Sophomore Ali Nichols (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) picked up nine digs defensively while sophomore Olivia Mora (San Antonio, Texas/Saint Mary's Hall) had one block solo and two block assists at the net.

The Tartans will next compete in the University Athletic Association Round Robin #1 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, on Saturday, October 1. They open against the host Bears before playing New York University on the first day.
