(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team hosted the Mount Aloysius College Mounties Wednesday, October 20 and won 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-8). The win improves the Tartans record to 22-8 while the Mounties are now 6-23.
Carnegie Mellon was led by freshman Kristen Flint's (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) career-best 10 kills while hitting .909 for the match. Senior Senna Parsa (Bellevue, Wash./Newport) also contributed to the offense with 10 kills, as freshman Jackie Gibbons (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) added six in the win.
Freshman Molly Higgins (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) racked up four of the Tartans' nine service aces and freshman setter Emily Newton (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Chadwick School) tallied three aces to go with her 32 assists.
The Tartans will conclude their home slate on Saturday, November 2 as they entertain the Gators of Allegheny College at 2:00 p.m.
