(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team finished in fourth-place in the Univeristy Athletic Association (UAA) Championship as they lost in straight sets (26-24, 25-18, 25-18) to No. 5 ranked Washington University (33-5).
The attack at the net for the Tartans was led by freshman Heather Holton (Haslett, Mich./Haslett) who recorded eight kills and senior Ali Celentano (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) who added six. Assists were split between sophomore Emily Newton (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Chadwick School) and Amanda Thiele (Lakeland, Fla./George Jenkins) with 16 and 11 sets, respectively.
Celentano led defensively with eight digs and sophomore libero Molly Higgins (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) added six to the tally for the Tartans.
The Tartans end the regular season with a record of 22-11.
