No. 21 Tartans Fall in UAA Contest to No. 3 Emory

(NEW YORK, N.Y.) - The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team finished University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #1 play on Sunday, October 4 with a match-up against third-ranked Emory University. The Tartans fell 3-0, moving their record to 19-4 on the year and 1-2 in UAA play.

Sophomore Eliza Donohue (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led the Tartans with nine kills while junior setter Emily Newton (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Chadwick School) had 25 assists to go with five kills of her own. Donohue and Newton each also had three block assists. Junior Molly Higgins (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) led with 15 digs.

The Tartans will have a week off before returning to UAA play on Saturday, October 17 at Case Western Reserve University. The team will open the two-day, four-match round robin against New York University at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
