Kim Kelly to be Inducted to Gettysburg’s Hall of Athletic Honor

(GETTYSBURG, Pa.) – Kim Kelly, Carnegie Mellon University's head volleyball coach, will be inducted to the Gettysburg College Hall of Athletic Honor as part of the Bullets Homecoming Weekend on September 30. At Gettysburg, Kelly led the volleyball program first as a player and later as head coach.
    
Kelly was a four-year letterwinner as a setter for the Bullets and served as team captain in 1991. The Irwin, Pa., native helped the team manage an incredible overall record of 163-37 (.815), including a school-record 45 wins in 1989. As a senior, Kelly led the program to its first NCAA showing in 1991. She returned to her alma mater as head coach in 1996. In nine seasons, she led the Bullets to eight Centennial Championships, eight national playoff appearances, and a 250-82 (.752) overall record.

"I couldn't be more excited for Kim, and her family, as they celebrate this significant achievement," said Director of Athletics Josh Centor. "While I never had the privilege of watching Kim play in college, I have had the good fortune to watch her coach, lead and make a difference in the lives of young women each and every day. She is an outstanding coach and administrator, and we are fortunate to have her as part of our team at Carnegie Mellon."

Now in her 12th season as Carnegie Mellon's head coach, Kelly is the school's all-time winningest coach compiling a 239-165 record for the Tartans while leading them to the highest-ever national ranking this season at No. 14.   

In Kelly's 21 seasons as a coach she has an overall record of 489-247 (.664) and has made 10 NCAA appearances.
