#16 Tartans Top Brockport, 3-0

(SELINSGROVE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team moved up to No. 16 in the rankings this week and topped The College at Brockport 3-0 on Friday, September 15 at the Susquehanna University Hampton Inn River Hawk Classic. The Tartans move to 9-0 on the year after set wins of 27-25, 25-15, and 25-19.

The Tartans were led by junior Lauren Mueller's (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) nine kills, as senior Eliza Donohue (Lancaster, Pa. / Hempfield) had seven and sophomore Sahara Aqui (Miramar, Fla. / Archbishop McCarthy) picked up six. Assists came from multiple players for the Tartans with senior Amanda Thiele (Lakeland, Fla. / George Jenkins) collecting nine and sophomore Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif. / Sacred Heart Cathedral) dishing out seven.

Defensively, Mueller led with 11 digs while Yew picked up 10 for her ninth straight double-digit dig game of the season. Mueller also had three block assists to go with one block solo, as Donohue also had three block assists.

The Tartans will next face the host school in Susquehanna on Saturday, September 16 at 12:00 p.m.
