#10 Tartans End Season at NCAA Regional Semifinal

(OWINGS MILLS, Md.) – The 10th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team played Swarthmore College in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship at Stevenson University on Saturday and dropped a 3-0 decision. The Tartans fell by the scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-18.

Junior Lauren Mueller (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) led the Tartans with 10 kills. Junior Sarah Jurgens (Eagan, Minn.) hit .261 for the Cardinal and Gray and recorded six kills. Sophomore Maia So-Holloway (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) tallied 22 assists and picked up 17 digs.

Sophomore libero Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) led with 24 digs while two others joined Yew and So-Holloway with double-digit digs. Mueller had 18 digs and junior Sydney Bauer (Allen, Texas) ended with 10.

The Tartans conclude the season with an overall mark of 30-5, as Swarthmore moved to 23-7.
