Jurgens and So-Holloway Named to All-ECAC Team

(DANBURY, Conn.) – Senior opposite Sarah Jurgens (Eagan, Minn.) and junior setter Maia So-Holloway (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team were named to the All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Volleyball Team, as announced by the ECAC late Wednesday afternoon. Of the seven members on this year's ECAC team, the Tartans are the lone school with multiple honorees. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Tartans have had multiple athletes recognized by the ECAC and sixth straight season of having at least one honoree.

This award comes following the two being named All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) in November along with So-Holloway being named AVCA Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year.

Jurgens ranked second on the team with 399 kills, 3.19 kills per game and a hitting percentage of .299, all ranking in the top 10 of the UAA. The senior recorded 22 double-digit kill matches and recorded her 1,000th career kill four weeks into the season. Jurgens ends her career ranked eighth on the school's all-time kills list with 1,235.

So-Holloway, a first team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) honoree, led the team and ranked second in the UAA with 1,306 assists. Her 56 service aces were tops on the Tartans and ranked third best in the Association. The junior recorded a career-best 58 assists against Alma and tabbed a career-best eight service aces against Franciscan. So-Holloway ranks fifth on the school's all-time assist list with 2,223 for her career.
