Yew Named UAA Volleyball Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University volleyball senior Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week for her performance during the Tartans 1-1 showing at the UAA Round Robin #2 held at Emory University.

Yew had a season-best 34 digs in the 14th-ranked Tartans' 3-1 loss to 3rd-ranked University of Chicago and 27 in the team's 3-2 win against Case Western Reserve University on Sunday at Emory. Yew continues to lead the UAA in digs while she also tallied two services aces in each match.

The Tartans have the week off before returning to UAA action on Sunday, October 20 when they'll face New York University and Washington University in St. Louis at Case Western Reserve.
