Tartans Making Fourth Consecutive Trip to the NCAA Championship Tournament

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – For the fourth straight season, the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team received an at-large bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Monday afternoon under the direction of first-year head coach Anne Bock. This marks the program's seventh overall appearance with the team advancing to the regional final a year ago.

The Tartans, who finished with an overall record of 22-7 and ranked third in the Mid-Atlantic region, finished fourth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship tournament over the weekend.

Carnegie Mellon will play Stevens Institute of Technology (20-11), winners of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom, in the first round on Friday, November 15 at 12:30 pm. The winner of the Tartans and Ducks will face the winner of Susquehanna University (31-6) and Westminster College (26-6) on Saturday, November 16 at 4:00 pm.

Johns Hopkins University (29-0), who is ranked first in the Mid-Atlantic region, was selected to host the three-day, eight-team regional. The Blue Jays will play Manhattanville College (24-5) in the first round with the winner advancing to play the winner of Stockton University (30-3) and Penn State Behrend (19-10) on Saturday.
