Yan Earns UAA Weekly Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior setter Stella Yan (Coppell, Texas / Coppell) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week following her performance over the weekend. Yan helped the Tartans to a 2-0 showing at the UAA Round Robin #2 including a win over sixth-ranked Emory University.

In the Tartans opener, a 3-2 win over Emory, Yan recorded 34 assists, six kills, hit .400, had 10 digs and recorded a career-high five block assists. Yan then dished out 21 assists and tabbed five digs in a 3-0 Tartan blanking of the University of Rochester. The seniors double-double against Emory marked her 11th of the season.

The Tartans will travel to Muskingum University on Friday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m.
