Women's Cross Country Team Up For the Challenge of 2014

Women's Cross Country Team Up For the Challenge of 2014

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team opens its regular season Saturday, August 30 at the Duquesne Duals.

"It has been many years since a Tartan woman's team has had this much returning depth," said head cross country coach Dario Donatelli.

"Four seniors and six juniors will be leading the way this season," Donatelli continued.  "All region and NCAA qualifier Rekha Schnepf (Jr.) will no doubt be at the front of that pack, but she will have plenty of support from her fellow upperclassmen."

"Enthusiasm is running high this pre-season with anticipation," Donatelli added.

It has been 15 years since the women's team has qualified for the NCAA's, and the student-athletes and coaches are thinking this could be the year.
