Tartan Women Place Second at Slippery Rock

(SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team topped four Division II teams at the Slippery Rock University Invitational to place second with three runners finishing in the top 15.

Junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) paced the Tartans with a second-place finish, as she crossed the finish line in 22:57.88. Fellow junior Taylor Maggiacomo (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) came in 13th place in 24:26.23, just ahead of senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) in 14th place in 24:27.46.

A trio of Tartans weren't far behind as junior Priya Patel (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) led the pack finishing 17th in 24:35.26. Following Patel was senior Hailey Brown (Wellsville, N.Y./Wellsville) in 18th place in 24:36.70 with junior Haley Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) on her heels in 24:44.01.

The seventh finisher for Carnegie Mellon was junior Kira Ragazzo (Frederick, Md./Urbana) in 23rd place with a time of 24:55.97.

The Tartans will be back on the course on Saturday, September 20 when they travel to Dickinson College.
