Snyder Leads Team to Seventh Place at Mideast Regional

(NEWVILLE, Pa.) - Junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) led the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team to seventh place at the Mideast Regional Championship on Saturday, November 15 at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pennsylvania. The Tartans finished the 52-team race with 217 points while Johns Hopkins University won the race with 28 points and Dickinson College was second with 99 points.

Snyder crossed the finish line of the 6k race in 22:10.0 for sixth place overall, earning All-Region honors. Senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) was second to finish for the Tartans as she crossed in 22:46.1 for 25th place, also earning All-Region honors.

Junior Zofia Tillman (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake) was third for the Tartans and 58th overall with a time of 23:37.0 while junior Haley Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) finished 63rd in 23:41.3. Senior Hailey Brown (Wellsville, N.Y./Wellsville) wasn't far behind Bryant as she finished 65th overall in a time of 23:42.8.

Finishing sixth for the Tartans and 84th overall was senior Halley Bayer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) in 24:09.8 as sophomore Taylor Maggiacomo (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) was 126th in a time of 24:42.1.
