Tartans Place Fourth at Saint Vincent Invitational

(LATROBE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team raced against 16 other teams at the Saint Vincent College Invitational on Saturday, September 17 and finished fourth behind Allegheny, Pittsburgh, and Waynesburg.

Junior Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) led the Tartans around the 6k course with a sixth-place finish in a time of 23:52 while freshman Emmayln Lindsey (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) was 27th overall in 25:07.

Senior Priya Patel (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) was just behind Lindsey in 28th with a time of 25:15, as freshman Valerie Collins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) crossed next in 25:16.

Junior Rhiannon Farney (Winston Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) was next to finish the race for the Tartans as she did so in 37th place in a time of 25:38. Behind Farney was sophomore Allison Scibisz (Hampton, N.H./Winnacunnet) in 25:43 and freshman Kate Reilly (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) in 25:54.

The Tartans will next race at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, October 1, in Louisville, Kentucky.
