Alavilli Places 108th at NCAA Championships

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) – Junior Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team competed in the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships hosted at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, November, 19. She was the third individual to compete on the national stage for the Tartans in past four years.

This year marks the first for Alavilli competing in the NCAA Division III Championships.

Alavilli crossed the finish line in a time of 22:01.1, to place 108th of 280 runners to complete the race. She averaged 5:54.2 per mile and bettered her time on that course from earlier this year by 30 seconds.
