Tartans Place 31st at NCAA Championships

(WINNECONNE, Wis.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team finished 31st at the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 17 in Winneconne, Wisconsin, at the Lake Breeze Golf Club. The appearance for the Tartans was the second straight and fifth in program history.

Sophomore Parvathi Meyyappan (Cupertino, Calif. / Monta Vista) led the Tartans with an 87th-place finish after moving across the 6k course in 22:27.3. Junior Abigail Levine (Bethesda, Md. / Bethesda Chevy Chase) was 122nd in 22:43.3 with junior Kate Reilly (Scranton, Pa. / Scranton Prep) placing 205th in 23:21.2.

Junior Valerie Collins (Wellesley, Mass. / Wellesley) finished the course in 24:15.5 with senior Wade Lacey (Albany, N.Y. / The Albany Academies) just behind her in 24:16.5 to place 263rd and 264th, respectively. Senior Rose Ciriello (Madison, N.J. / Madison), running cross country for the first time after three years on the track, finished 276th in 24:46.9, as junior Emmalyn Lindsey (Eugene, Ore. / South Eugene) was seventh for the Tartans and 278th overall in 24:53.0.
