Six Women's Cross Country Runners Garner All-Academic Honor from USTFCCCA

Six members of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team were named to the All-Academic team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, the Tartans earned all-academic team accolades sporting a 3.48 cumulative average.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team closed the season with an 18th-place finish at the 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. The championships were hosted by Spalding University on the 6k course at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. This marked the Tartans fourth straight team appearance at the championships and seventh overall.

Tartans Awarded Bid to 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team received an at-large invitation to the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships marking the fourth straight bid for the Tartans. This year's race will be hosted by Spalding University at the Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, November 20. The team appearance marks the seventh in program history.

Tartans Place Third at NCAA Regional for Third Straight Time

November 13, 2021

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team placed third at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship after completing the 6k course at Big Springs High School in Newville, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, November 13. The Tartans scored 88 points, the same as second-place finisher Dickinson College, while Johns Hopkins University won the title with 20 points.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team placed third at the 2021 University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Cross Country Championship Saturday at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, New York. The Tartans placed five runners in the top 20 on the 6k course to finish with 79 points. Washington University in St. Louis won the race with 32 points. It marks the highest finish for the Tartans since placing third in 2012 as well.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country won the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College with 122 points. Leading the Tartans in the 33-team race on the 6k course was graduate student Michelle Murray (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields).

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team hosted the Carnegie Mellon University Cross Country Invitational in Schenley Park on Saturday, October 9 after a day or so of intermittent showers with a light rain falling at the start of the 5k race. The Tartans placed third out of 14 scored teams with Division I Duquesne University and Division II Clarion University finishing first and second.

Graduate student Michelle Murray (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team crossed the finish line first at the Robert Morris Colonial Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Tartans placed second on a 6k course at Youthtowne in Clinton, Pennsylvania. The women tallied 49 points with Pitt winning the event with 36.

Seballos Leads Tartans at Yinzer Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team started its 2021 season at the Yinzer Invitational held at Youthtowne in Clinton, Pennsylvania, on Friday evening. The field was comprised of runners from Division I, II and III with Duquesne, Pittsburgh, Robert Morris, Saint Francis (Pa.), Youngstown State and Seton Hill all competing with the Tartans. The women placed fifth with 132 points with Duquesne winning the event with 35.
