Tartans Place Fifth at Paul Short Invitational Brown Race

(BETHLEHEM, Pa.) - In a field of Division I, II and III runners, the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team placed fifth out of 39 teams in the brown 6k race at the Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational on Friday afternoon.

Senior Kristen Seballos (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) was the first Tartan to cross the finish line with a time of 21:57.6 to place 25th in a field of 341 runners. Graduate student Michelle Murray (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields) crossed in 22:26.1, placing 49th.

The third Tartan to finish was senior Taylor Jacobs (Bozeman, Mont. / The Taft School) in 68th with a time of 22:40.5. Freshmen Cora Marcet (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville Central) and Alyssa Hoffman (Watsontown, Pa. / Warrior Run) then crossed fourth and fifth for the Cardinal and Gray with times of 22:41.4 and 22:43.1, respectively, to place 70th and 72nd.

The Tartans will run next on their home course at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Schenley Park on Saturday, October 9.
