Tartans Win Inter-Regional Rumble

(OBERLIN, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country won the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College with 122 points. Leading the Tartans in the 33-team race on the 6k course was graduate student Michelle Murray (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields).

Murray placed ninth in the field of 306 runners with a time of 22:40.4. Senior Kristen Seballos (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) finished in 13th with a time of 22:53.2.

Sophomore Megan Baker (Exton, Pa. / B. Reed Henderson) and freshman Cora Marcet (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville Central) were the next two Tartans to cross in 23rd and 31st, respectively, followed by senior Taylor Jacobs (Bozeman, Mont. / The Taft School) in 46th. Baker crossed in 23:16.4, Marcet in 23:25.7 and Jacobs in 23:38.6.

The Tartans will next compete at the University Athletic Association Championships on Saturday, October 30 at the University of Rochester.
