Liz Barre - Women's Track and Field

Senior Liz Barre of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team helped the Tartans to a fourth-place finish at the UAA Outdoor Championships over the weekend. The fourth-place finish ties the 1995, 1998 and 2018 teams for the best finish in school history. Barre ended the championships with three titles, winning the long jump, high jump and 100-meter hurdles. She becomes the first Tartan in program history to win three events at the UAA Track and Field Championships. Her first title came in the long jump, as she broke her previous school record jump of 5.52 meters when she leapt 5.86 meters. She followed by winning the 100-meter hurdles, crossing with a personal-best time of 14.21. The senior then closed the championships winning the high jump with a school record and UAA record height of 1.72 meters. She again topped her previous school record of 1.70 meters she set early this season.
