Kris Hughes - Football

Senior Kris Hughes of the Carnegie Mellon University football team led the offensive attack in the Tartans' 35-17 victory over Whitworth University on Friday night. With 6:32 to play in the first half, Hughes hauled in a Ben Mills pass and sprinted down the field for a school-record 99-yard catch and run to double the Tartans' lead. The connection was the longest touchdown pass in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) since September 20, 1975. The senior ended the game with a career-high 190 yards on six receptions and two touchdowns in the win. He moved into second all-time in program history in touchdown receptions and has 22 for his career. He needs three more to move into a tie for first with John Prather (2014-2017).
