Bio

Hunter Poust joined the Carnegie Mellon University Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation in July 2022 as the assistant coordinator of recreation. Hunter is responsible for supporting and supervising the recreational athletic facilities, student workers, and programming. He also manages and oversees the campus recreation marketing and social media as well as supporting varsity game day events as needed.

Hunter comes to Carnegie Mellon after graduating from Slippery Rock University in May with his Bachelor of Science degree in sports management. During his last semester, he served as a marketing and athletic department intern at Bucknell University. While in his intern role, Hunter worked with the promotions team to implement contests and prize giveaways featuring students and community members during home varsity basketball, baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse games.

During his 2021 summer break, Hunter was a game day intern for the Williamsport Crosscutters where he helped maintain and prep the facilities for game day activities as well as implemented promotions and in-game contests for spectators.

Hunter also served as an intern at Eastern Lycoming YMCA where he helped maintain the facilities, answered patron’s questions and planned recreational activities for the daycare children.

As a student at Slippery Rock, Hunter was a member of the Sport Management Alliance as well as a member of the wrestling club for three years where he held the role of secretary and also volunteered with the Western PA Special Olympics.
