Internship Year, Title, and Company
Summer 2020, Technical Intern at GE Aviation

Application process: Applied and interviewed in the end of September, accepted offer in October.

Why did this internship interest you: The aerospace industry is really interesting to me. I looked forward to hands-on experience within the industry as well!

How did you complete the internship - remotely or on-site: The internship was remote.

Description of internship: I worked eight-hour workdays with my team. I obtained professional development in Lean and Six Sigma, honing problem solving and decision-making skills. Additionally, I completed a New Product Introduction Simulation with a focus in engineering, marketing, design, sourcing, and manufacturing. We were able to learn how to balance constraints to maximize return while applying all that we learned from our training.

How it could have been different if not remote: The experience would have been much more impactful if I was able to be hands on with the engines and the supply chain. I am looking forward to these experiences in the future.

How did this internship shape your next move: My evaluation from the internship netted me a return offer that I accepted for the summer of 2021.
