Carnegie Mellon Athletics Partners With KPEX Consulting

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University Department of Athletics has recently partnered with KPEX Consulting. KPEX dedicated to helping athletes, coaches, corporate leaders and other performers to achieve greatness in sport, business, and life.

Dr. Aimee Kimball, CEO of KPEX Consulting, said “We are thrilled to partner with Carnegie Mellon Athletics to provide support to their student athletes. While we are focused on teaching individuals the mental skills needed to excel athletically, these same skills will help them to meet their high academic expectations as well. Student-athletes are asked to balance many demands, and by providing individuals with methods to alleviate stress, focus appropriately, build confidence, and develop their leadership skills, we hope to aid them in being successful in all they do.”

KPEX’s programs focus on identifying the mindset in which you perform your best and providing ways to recreate that mindset. They take a strengths-based approach to developing mental toughness.

“We are committed to providing our student-athletes with every opportunity to get the most out of their athletic experience at Carnegie Mellon, and our partnership with KPEX is a big step for our program,” said Director of Athletics Josh Centor. “We believe that consistent mental training will provide our student-athletes with an edge, not just on the fields of play, but in the things they choose to pursue outside of the arena as well.”

Dr. Aimee Kimball went on to say, “We will also be working with teams, helping build their culture and create an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and succeeding. CMU is the only university in the area offering mental skills training to all of their athletes and we are happy to join them in this endeavor.”
