Due to rain in the area all week with expected rain on Friday, the Carnegie Mellon University softball game against Washington University in St. Louis scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19 at Grove City College has been moved to Sunday, April 21 at 12:00 p.m. at Shady Side Academy. There will now be a doubleheader on Sunday with the first game scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team won The Visit Florence Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon. The 54-hole event was played at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals. The Tartans carded a seven-under par 281 on Tuesday and ended with an 853 (285-287-281).

Senior Thomas Rich of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events. The senior competed at the Susquehanna Multi last Thursday and Friday while winning the decathlon with a school record 6,823 points which broke his own record of 6,606 set last season at the NCAA Championships.

The Carnegie Mellon University’s softball team played a second doubleheader against New York University on Staten Island, New York, on Sunday, April 14. The Tartan topped the Violets, 9-3, in the first game with NYU winning the second, 5-2. The Tartans are now 13-11 overall and 7-5 in the UAA while the Violets are 6-20 and 1-11.

The Carnegie Mellon University’s softball team traveled to New York, New York, to play New York University on Staten Island for its third University Athletic Association (UAA) series of the season. The Tartan topped the Violets, 3-0, in game one on Saturday, April 13 and finished game two with a 17-7 victory in five innings. The Tartans are now 12-10 overall and 6-4 in the UAA while the Violets fall to 5-19 and 0-10.
