(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University football team will open its 2013 season on Saturday, September 7 as it travels north to play long-time rival Grove City College.  The Cardinal and Gray will look to win their 15th straight opener, dating back to the 1999 season.

The Tartans are once again led by head coach Rich Lackner, who is entering his 28th season at the helm and currently ranks third among Division III active coaches with 181 victories.

Saturday's game between the Tartans and Wolverines will mark the 55th meeting between the two schools, with the Tartans leading the series 34-18-2. The Tartans have squared off against the Wolverines more times than any other team except for Washington & Jefferson College. Carnegie Mellon won the past four meetings and seven of the last eight, including a 23-20 decision in Pittsburgh to open the season last year.  This will be the Tartans first trip to Grove City since 2010 when Carnegie Mellon won 28-21.

Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. on the gridiron of Robert E. Thorn Field in Grove City, Pa.
