(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team hosted Chatham University on Tuesday afternoon and walked away with a 90-73 victory over the Cougars.

How it Happened
- Carnegie Mellon started the game making 6-of-7 from the floor and jumped out to a 12-3 lead four minutes into the contest.
- After Chatham scored five straight points, the Tartans answered with eight straight that ended on a triple by sophomore Aidan Murphy with 11:44 to play in the half.
- The Cardinal and Gray continued to control the remainder of the half and took a 49-31 advantage into the locker room after shooting 59.4% from the floor over the first twenty minutes.
- A three-point basket by freshman Justin Allen to open the second half gave the home team its largest lead of the contest at 52-31, but a 10-0 run by Chatham over the next three-and-half minutes cut the Tartans lead to 52-41.
- Carnegie Mellon answered with a 9-2 run that pushed the score to 67-43 with just under 13 minutes to play. From there, the Tartans lead never dipped below 13 points the rest of the way.

- Carnegie Mellon finished the game shooting 54.4% from the floor including converting 9-of-17 from behind the arc for 52.9%.
- Five Tartans scored in double figures with senior Josh Berry leading the way with a career-high 20 points, including a 10-of-12 effort from the charity stripe.
- Junior Jack Stone scored 14 off the bench with classmate R.J. Holmes chipping in with 13, senior Nick Nakasian scoring a season-best 11 and All ending the contest with 10.
- The Tartans held a 42-36 advantage on the glass with Holmes leading the way with a game-best nine boards.
Cougar Stats
- Chatham shot 37.8% from the floor and was 12-of-39 for 30.8% from long range.
- The Cougars had four players score in double figures with Marcos Cintron leading with a game-high 24 points. Isaiah Smith scored 18, Simon Boyer 11 and Brandon Lavernia 10.
Game Notes
- The Tartans 54.4% shooting from the floor was the highest this season and second time they shot above 50%.
- It marked the second time this season that the Cardinal and Gray had five players score in double figures.
- Carnegie Mellon improves to 4-1 when holding a halftime lead.
