- The Eagles would again go up by six, 54-48, ahead of the Tartans rallying to tie the score at 56-56 with less than three minutes to play on a jumper by junior Jack Stone following a steal by DeJardin.
- DeJardin drained a three-pointer to make it 59-58 with 2:18 to go before Emory took a one-point lead on a driving layup by Benjamin Pearce with 57 seconds to play.
- Junior R.J. Holmes answered with his own driving layup and Stone was fouled following a steal that led to two free throws and a three-point Tartan advantage with 24 seconds to go.
- The Tartans played tight defense and forced Emory into a timeout with eight seconds to go.
- The inbounds play from the sideline was tossed into the backcourt and a shot by Pearce with one second to go was to strong, hitting the backboard and off the rim for the Tartans' victory.
