Bio

Jermaine Turner has been on staff for the Carnegie Mellon University men’s basketball program since the start of the 2018-19 season.

Turner came to Carnegie Mellon from Chatham University where he served as an assistant for a season under former Tartan assistant Drew Garcia.

Prior to coaching at Chatham, Turner played professionally for 17 years internationally. He collected team championships, scoring crowns and MVP awards in Switzerland, Spain, Ireland and Romania. He was the 2006 And-1 Dunk Champion and was Eurobasket’s 2011 Irish MVP having led league champion Killester Basketball Club in scoring, rebounding, steals, blocks and assists.

Turner, a native of Queens, New York, coached all ages for nine years while in Spain and Ireland. Most recently, he served as the head coach at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland for two seasons. He also had stops at Dublin City University and St. Nessains in Dublin.

Turner resides in Pittsburgh and is the Academy Director at The Scoring Factory.
