Men's Golf Volunteers with The First Tee of Pittsburgh

On Sunday September 24, the Carnegie Mellon men's golf team volunteered with The First Tee of Pittsburgh, an organization dedicated to integrating life skills and golf skills for children, with an emphasis on providing affordable golfing opportunities. As a volunteer coach for The First Tee program, Tartans senior Alexander Pomerantz acted as the liaison to help the team get involved.

"By working with younger athletes, we were hoping to serve as positive role models and help them in their tournament along the way," said Pomerantz. "We were particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity to grow their game of golf working with many young beginners.

All 12 men's golf members volunteered together to help the Associate Executive Director, Eric Amato, host their fall invitational at Bob O'Connor Golf Course. The team helped with registration and scoring for the 3 and 6 hole divisions.
