Tartans in Fifth Following Second Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

(JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team continued play at the second round of the 54-hole Jekyll Island Collegiate Saturday. The Tartans are currently in fifth after 36-holes of play with a total of 584 (291-293) after carding a 291 on Saturday. The three-day event is being played on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island. The field is comprised of 30 teams which has 14 of the nation's top 25 teams in Division III including four of the top five.

Sophomore Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) continued to lead the Tartans, as he followed his three-under per 69 performance in the opening round with a one-under 71 on Saturday for a 36-hole score of 140. Li is currently fourth on the individual leaderboard in a field f 150 golfers.

Senior Patrick Tan (Vancouver, British Columbia/Prince of Wales Secondary) carded a 76 on Saturday and has a 148 (72-76). Sophomore Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) and freshman Joshua Lim (San Francisco, Calif./Lowell) both are sitting with a 149. Folker shot even par during the second round to go with his 77 while Lim fired rounds of 73 and 76, respectively. Freshman William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) has a 154 (80-74) heading into play on Sunday.

Carnegie Mellon had two individuals play on the par-72 Oleander Course. Sophomore Jay Milch (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) has a 36-hole score of 149 (74-75) while freshman James Pak (Palisades Park, N.J./Bergen Catholic) has a 157 (83-74).

The third round of the event will be held Sunday, March 17 with the first group teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
