Men’s Golf Receives Eighth Straight Academic Accolade for 2018-19 Season

(NORMAN, Okla.) – The 2018-19 Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was one of 28 NCAA Division III institutions who received the All-Academic Team award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Tartans finished the year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.09, as it marked the eighth straight season the Cardinal and Gray have received the accolade.

New Mexico (Division I), Newberry (Division II), Augsburg (Division III), SCAD - Atlanta (NAIA), Dodge City (NJCAA DI), and North Central Missouri (NJCAA DII) have been named Academic National Champions for their respective divisions, announced the GCAA. Newberry posted the highest overall team GPA for all divisions with a 3.84.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. Including all divisions (NCAA I, II, III and NAIA) 192 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition.
