Men’s Golf Receives Ninth Straight Academic Accolade for 2019-20 Season

(NORMAN, Okla.) – The 2019-20 Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team was one of 38 NCAA Division III institutions who received the All-Academic Team award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Tartans finished the year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.27, as it marked the ninth straight season the Cardinal and Gray have received the accolade.

Kentucky (Division I), Maryville (Division II), Swarthmore (Division III), Wayland Baptist (NAIA), Northeast Mississippi (NJCAA Division I), South Mountain (NJCAA Division II) were all named Academic National Champions for finishing with the top GPA in their respective divisions, announced by the GCAA. Kentucky posted the highest overall team GPA for all divisions with a 3.89.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. Including all divisions (NCAA I, II, III and NAIA) 250 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition.
