  • Folker Wins Individual Medalist at Wynlakes Intercollegiate; Tartans Place Second Tying School Record for Lowest 36-Hole Score

    Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf claimed individual medalist honors at the 36-hole Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama, at the par 72, 6,979-yard Wynlakes Golf & Country Club Tuesday afternoon. The Tartans placed second in the 15-team field tying the school record for the lowest 36-hole tournament score of 570 (287-283). The Cardinal and Gray tied the 36-hole performance from September 2017 at The Links at Spring Church during the CMU Fall Shootout.
  • Tartans Card One-Under Par to Open Play at Wynlakes Intercollegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the first round of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama on Monday, and carded a team score of one-under par 287 and are third in the 15-team event. The 36-hole event is being played at the par 72, 6,979-yard Wynlakes Golf & Country Club.

    Senior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team claimed individual medalist honors at the 54-hole 2021 Golfweek DIII Spring Invitational. The Tartans placed four in the 12-team field with a 900 (299-308-293). The event was played at the par-72, 6,755-yard El Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

    (HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team carded a 308 in the second round of the 2021 Golfweek DIII Spring Invitational and are in third in the 12-team field with a 36-hole score of 607 (299-308). The 54-hole event is being played at the par-72, 6,755-yard El Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team opened play in the first round of the 2021 Golfweek DIII Spring Invitational held at the par-72, 6,755-yard El Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The Tartans carded a team score of 299 on Friday and currently are tied with Methodist University in first-place in the 12-team event.
  • Tartans Complete Play at Jekyll Island Collegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team finished play at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Sunday. The Tartans ended the 54-hole tournament ninth out of 25 teams after carding a score of 907 (293-309-305) over the three rounds. The three-day event was held on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island with Guilford College winning.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team continued play at the second round of the 54-hole Jekyll Island Collegiate Saturday. The Tartans are currently in fifth after 36-holes of play with a total of 602 (293-309) after carding a 309 on Saturday. The three-day, 25-team event is being played on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.

The Tartans carded a team score of 293 and are currently sixth in a field comprised of 25 teams. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team, ranked-fourth in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, finished play at the 36-hole Tiger Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina, on Sunday afternoon. The Tartans carded a second round score of 299 to finish with a 599 (300-299) and placed ninth in the 14-team field. The two-day event was played at the par-72, 6,925-yard Forest Creek Golf Club on the north course.

  • UAA Cancels Formal Spring Competition; Carnegie Mellon to Focus on Non-Conference Opportunities

    The University Athletic Association Presidents Council has unanimously approved a resolution to cancel all formal UAA spring sport competition for the 2020-21 season. Carnegie Mellon University is one of eight institutions that form the UAA along with Brandeis University, Case Western Reserve University, Emory University, New York University, University of Rochester, University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis.

    Although the traditional fall and winter seasons haven’t been on display for Carnegie Mellon University this year, the excellence of the university’s student-athletes is still impacting the entire community. Each winter for the past six years, the CMU Department of Athletics has celebrated its top academic athletes at the Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Celebration during finals week. And while an in-person celebration is on hold for now, the highest-performing junior and senior student-athletes in each undergraduate college and on each team are still being recognized for their academic performance.
