Tartans Place Seventh at The Hershey Cup

(HERSHEY, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the final round of The Hershey Cup on Monday and finished with a 36-hole total of 604 (305-299) to place seventh out of 17 teams. The two-day event hosted by the University of Rochester was played on the par-70, East Course at Hershey Country Club.

Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill. / Lake Forest) led the Cardinal and Gray with a 36-hole score of 144 (74-70) after firing an even par 70 Monday. The senior started the final round with an eagle and placed fourth individually in a field of 89 golfers.

Senior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area) turned in a round of 74 day two and finished with a 149 (75-74) while freshman Justin Chan (London, United Kingdom) carded a 76 Monday and ended with a 154 (78-76).

Sophomore Brian Xu (San Diego, Calif. / Torrey Pines) shot a 157 (78-79) over the 36-hole event. Senior Joshua Lim (San Francisco, Calif. / Lowell) ended play with a 162 (83-79).

Carnegie Mellon had one individual compete on Sunday at the Savannah Quarters Country Club, as senior Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) carded a 154 (78-76).

The Tartans will next play in the Division III Showcase at The Donald Ross Course at French Lick in French Lick, Indiana.
