Men's Golf Makes Cut at 2022 NCAA Championship, Tartans in Second

(HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship Wednesday afternoon at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The Tartans carded a 299 as a team on the par-71, 6,792-yard Las Colinas Course and have a 36-hole score of 587 (+15) which places them second in a field of 43 teams and advances them to rounds three and four of the championship event. Following play on Wednesday, the field was cut to the top 18 teams and the top six individuals not on one of those teams. Methodist University leads the championship with a 581.

Senior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill. / Lake Forest) led the Cardinal and Gray on Wednesday with a one-over par 71 and has a 36-hole score of 147. Folker is tied with freshman teammate Justin Chan (London, United Kingdom) with a 147 following Chen's round of 76 on day two.

Senior William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area) leads the Tartans with a two-day score of 145 and is tied for eighth individually.

Senior Joshua Lim (San Francisco, Calif. / Lowell) will enter play on Thursday with e 151 (76-75) with senior Henry Scavone (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) starting round three with a 36-hole score of 161 (73-88).

Play resumes Thursday, as the final two rounds will be played on par-72, 6,744-yard El Campeón Course. Scavone will tee off first for the Tartans at 9:39 a.m.
