Tartans Finish Fourth at O'Briant-Jensen Memorial

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team ended play on Tuesday at the 36-hole O'Briant-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College on The Cardinal by Pete Dye Course in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Tartans carded a 290 and finished fourth in the 18-team field with a 588 (298-290).

How it Happened:

  • Freshman David Zhang carded his lowest round of the fall Tuesday when he entered the clubhouse with a one-under par 70. He placed tied for seventh individually in a field of 102 golfers with a 36-hole score of even par 142 (72-70).
  • Turning in a card of even par 71 for the final round was junior Brian Xu who ended the memorial with a 146 (75-71).
  • Sophomore Justin Chan and freshman Andrew Wang each shot a 150 over 36 holes. Wang carded a 74 and Chen a 75 Tuesday.
  • Graduate student Henry Scavone ended play with a 155 (78-77).
  • The Tartans had one individual compete at the event, as freshman Jay Saluja shot a 160 (81-79).
