Singh Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer junior Andrew Singh (Golden, Colo./Lakewood) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, as announced by the association. The honor is the first for Singh and fifth straight year at least one member of the Tartans received the award.

Nominated players must be starters or significant reserves in at least their sophomore season and carry a minimum GPA of 3.30. Carnegie Mellon is part of District 4 which is comprised of all Division III schools in the state of Pennsylvania. Singh now moves on to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

The Tartans starting goalkeeper this season, Singh has led the team to a 6-8-1 overall record with a 2-4 mark in the University Athletic Association (UAA). He has recorded three solo shutouts with one shared shutout this season and has a career goals against average of 0.86.

Away from the field, Singh carries a 3.82 GPA as a computer science major with a machine learning minor. He's made the Dean's List twice and was a software engineering intern for Comcast CDN Analytics Team and a research assistant at CU Boulder Verification Group. The junior volunteers with the team's inner-city after-school program teaching soccer and mentoring students.

The Tartans will travel to Case Western Reserve University in the regular season finale on Saturday, November 9 at 3:00 p.m.
