Six Athletes Among Initiates to Phi Beta Kappa

Six Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were selected for spring initiation into the Upsilon of Pennsylvania chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. The induction ceremony took place on May 11.
Shockley Awarded Prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer senior Mason Shockley has been selected to receive an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for excelling academically and athletically while showing leadership and commitment to the community. Twenty-one males and 21 females across all three NCAA divisions were chosen as recipients for fall sports.
Edmonds Named to the Men’s Soccer All-ECAC First Team

Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer senior Jason Edmunds was recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The senior was received Division III Men’s Soccer All-ECAC First Team accolades.
Edmunds Tabbed All-Region by United Soccer Coaches

Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer senior Jason Edmunds has been named to the United Soccer Coaches Region VII team. Edmunds earned a spot on the third team, collecting the first all-region accolade of his career and the first for a Tartan since 2018.
Tartans Place 24 on Academic All-District Teams

Twenty-four Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, nominated by members of CSC, for the fall season. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) rebranded to CSC in the summer of 2022.
Schonwetter Named UAA Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year; Three Others Honored on All-Association Team

Freshman Brendan Schonwetter earned the respect of the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches by being named the UAA Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year, sharing the honor with Rainer Osselman-Chai of Brandeis University. The UAA coaches also recognized three other Tartans for the year after the team finished fourth in the league standings with a 3-4 mark.
Tartans Finish Season With Setback to #17 Calvin in NCAA Tournament Play

The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team competed in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship on Friday at Kenyon College against 17th-ranked Calvin University. The Knights defeated the Tartans 5-0.
Men’s Soccer Selected to NCAA Championship Field for 15th Time

The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team received an at-large bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship. The appearance in the NCAA tournament marks the 15th for the program and fourth under ninth-year head coach Brandon Bowman. The last appearance for the Cardinal and Gray was in 2018 when they advanced via penalty kicks before falling in overtime in the second round.
Tartans Fall in Nail-Biter to #24 Case Western Reserve

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to face 24th-ranked Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, November 5 in the last regular season game of the season. The Tartans took an early lead but succumbed to the Spartans by a 3-2 score, finishing the regular season with an 11-4-1 overall record and a 3-4 mark in University Athletic Association play. The Spartans finish 10-3-3 and 5-1-1.
Seniors Win Weekend Games, Top Rochester 1-0

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team collected its third University Athletic Association (UAA) win and second of the week with a 1-0 score against the University of Rochester at home on Sunday, October 30. The Tartans are now 11-3-1 overall and 3-3 in the UAA with Rochester moving to 6-5-4 and 1-3-2.
Tartans Work Together for 2-1 Win Versus Emory

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team scored the game-winning goal late in the second half to top Emory University at home on Friday, October 28 by a 2-1 score to move to 10-3-1 for the year and 2-3 in the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Eagles drop to 5-7-4 and 1-4.

The 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team scored first against Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday, October 16, but the Bears were able to defend their home field on senior day for a 2-1 win. The Tartans are now 9-3-1 for the season and 1-3 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Bears move to 6-3-2 and 2-0-2.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team, ranked 14th in the nation, fell to first-ranked University of Chicago on Friday afternoon on Chicago's home field. Chicago moved to 13-0 overall and 3-0 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) with a 4-0 win, while the Tartans are now 9-2-1 and 1-2.
Mateo Hernandez Shares His Student Experience

Mateo Hernandez started his Carnegie Mellon University experience as a remote student in the fall of 2020. Now a junior, Hernandez has found spheres of support through his experiences as a men's soccer student-athlete, member of SALSA, and with alumni through his internship placement with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).
