Mancini Scores Header in #14 Tartans 1-0 Win at Brandeis

(WALTHAM, Mass.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team, ranked 14th in the nation, traveled to Brandeis University for its second University Athletic Association (UAA) contest of the season and will return home with a 1-0 victory. The Tartans are now 9-1-1 overall and 1-1 in the UAA, as Brandeis drops to 4-4-2 and 0-2.

  • Senior Dante Mancini scored his second career goal in the 80th minute. The goal is his first career game-winning strike.
  • Mancini's goal was a header at the near post following a free kick strike from senior Josh Baugh.
  • The Tartans put four shots on frame with the Brandeis defense making a save for its keeper in the 64th minute off a shot from junior Ethan Vertal.
  • Brandeis had a shot defended by the Tartans' back line in the 76th minute to keep it a 0-0 game.
