Edmonds Named to the Men’s Soccer All-ECAC First Team

DANBURY, Conn. – Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer senior Jason Edmunds was recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The senior was received Division III Men's Soccer All-ECAC First Team accolades.

Edmunds, who recently was recently named to the United Soccer Coaches Region VII team, took advantage of the extra year of eligibility due to the 2020 season being canceled by COVID-19 and helped lead the Tartans back to the NCAA tournament. Edmunds closed his career as a four-year starter for the Tartan defense and played in two NCAA tournaments. His leadership on and off the field for the Tartans contributed to the team's 11-5-1 season, as the team recorded seven shutouts. An attacking outside back, Edmunds fired off 13 shots for the year, scoring one goal and assisting on another.

The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-four-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast. The ECAC's esports platform is growing and now totals more than sixty colleges and universities and is expanding the geographic footprint for the conference nationally. The ECAC is also sponsoring competitions and leagues involving other varsity and club sports that do not fall under the umbrella of the NCAA.
