Tartans Swim at Kenyon Fast Chance Meet

(GAMBIER, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team traveled to Kenyon College for the Kenyon Fast Chance Meet on Saturday afternoon in an effort to improve on times this season with the hope of better qualifying for the NCAA Championships next month.

Sophomore Sam Hawke (Malvern, Pa. / Episcopal Academy) placed second in the 200-yard IM with a season-best time of 1:53.74.

Freshman Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason) recorded two season-best times with the first coming in the 200-yard freestyle touching third with a time of 1:42.01. His second season-best time came in the 100-yard butterfly as he touched the wall in 50.82 to lace seventh.

Sophomore Sam Hawke (Malvern, Pa. / Episcopal Academy) turned in a fourth-place finish with a season-best time of 4:06.79 in the 400-yard IM. Freshman Max Gonzalez (Allison Park, Pa. / North Allegheny) also placed fourth and had a season-best time in the 100-yard backstroke with a time 53.04.
