Copper and Yu Win at No. 2 Doubles in Setback at #8 Johns Hopkins

(BALTIMORE, MD) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked 18th nationally, traveled to Baltimore, Maryland Sunday, March 31 and dropped a 7-2 decision to the eighth-ranked Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins University.

Carnegie Mellon took the first point of the match as sophomore Thomas Cooper (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) and senior Jooho Yu (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) beat Nicholas Garcia and Noah Joachim, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles, but the Tartans would trail 2-1 heading into singles play.

In singles, the Tartans lone point came when sophomore Christian Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) won at No. 1 over Tanner Brown, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

Carnegie Mellon will host Duquesne University Friday, April 5 at 4:00 p.m.
