Two Men’s Tennis Doubles Teams Receive All-UAA Honors

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Four Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis players found a spot on the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) team following their performances at the Association Championship this past weekend.  The Tartans No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairs received second-team honors.

At No. 2 doubles, senior Jooho Yu (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) and sophomore Thomas Cooper (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) went 2-1 at the UAA Championship, as they finished the season with a 5-3 overall mark in the No. 2 slot.  This marks the second straight season that the pair have been honored.  A year ago the teammates achieved first-team accolades after going 3-0 at No. 2 doubles.

The second doubles pair to be honored was the tandem of sophomore Bryce Beisswanger (Los Angeles, Calif./Viewpoint School) and freshman Yuvraj Kumar (New Delhi, India/Millfield School).  The duo won all three of their matches at No. 3 doubles at the UAA Championship.  The tandem finished the season with a perfect 6-0 record in doubles play.
