Sophomore Heaney-Secord Selected to NCAA Singles Championship

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Christian Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) has been selected to compete for the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Championship when the field of 32 was announced today by the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Committee.

The selection of individuals is based on win-lost record, strength of schedule, and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.

Heaney-Secord finished the regular season with a 12-10 mark in singles play at the No. 1 position for the Tartans, defeating four opponents from nationally ranked teams, two of which came during University Athletic Association play.

The individual championship will take place May 23 through May 25 at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
