Men's Tennis Has Strong Showing at Oberlin Invitational

(OBERLIN, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played at the Oberlin College Invitational on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16. Highlights of the weekend include three players earning 3-0 marks.

Senior Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill. / Boca Prep International School) was 3-0 for the weekend with a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) win in singles with a 9-7 and 8-4 win in doubles with senior Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar). Downing was also undefeated for the weekend with a 6-3, 6-3 win in singles play.

Senior Yannick Bloem (Geneva, Switzerland / EPFL, Lausanne) defeated Case Western Reserve sophomore Earl Hsieh, 7-6, 6-4, and paired with junior Vayum Arora (Fremont, Calif. / Mission San Jose) to win twice in doubles action, 8-5 and 8-1.
