ITA Honors Men’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Nine Named Scholar Athletes

The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team was honored for the 15th straight season and 22nd time in the last 23 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, nine players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.

Ten men’s and women’s tennis and softball Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, nominated by members of CSC, for the fall season. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) rebranded to CSC in the summer of 2022.

Jangbahadur Completes Season at NCAA Singles Championship

Carnegie Mellon University freshman Raghav Jangbahadur opened play at the 2024 NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships on Sunday, May 26. The first-year Tartan was invited to the tournament for his singles play with competition taking place at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis freshman Raghav Jangbahadur was honored as the Division III Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Rookie of the Year.

Five Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis players were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches on Thursday with recognition on the 2024 UAA Men's Tennis All-Association Team with freshman Raghav Jangbahadur receiving UAA Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Year accolades. Joining Jangbahadur on the team is senior Nicholas Wernink, freshman Daniel Kong, senior Derek Wong, and sophomore Akshay Joshi.

Freshman Raghav Jangbahadur has been selected to play for the NCAA Division III Men's Individual Championships to be held at the Dwight Davis Memorial Tennis Center in St. Louis, Missouri, May 25-27. The championships are being hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.

The 27th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played New York University in the fifth-place match of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans won a thriller by the score of 5-4 and end the season with a mark of 8-10 while the NYU is now 4-10.

The 27th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played Brandeis University in the consolation semifinals of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Friday in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans defeated the Judges 5-2 and are now 7-10 on the season as the Judges move to 1-15.

The Tartans record is now 6-10 as the Bears move to 11-9.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s tennis team, ranked 25th in Division III, entertained fourth-ranked Case Western Reserve University Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh. The Tartans dropped a 6-3 decision and are now 6-9 on the season in dual match play while the Spartans move to 23-4.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s tennis team, ranked 37th in the nation, hosted 23rd-ranked Washington and Lee University on Saturday, March 30 indoors at Alpha Tennis and Fitness Club. The Tartans won the match by a 5-2 score to move to 4-6 overall while the Generals dropped to 10-5.
